From the mid-2010s LG built most of its refrigerators around a quiet, efficient linear compressor — and one generation of them failed early, often at three to six years old. That led to a class-action settlement, extended compressor warranties, and a redesigned replacement part. If your LG stopped cooling on both sides at once with the lights on and fans running, this is the first thing we check.

Before we quote a compressor job, we help you find out whether the part is covered. If it is, you may pay labor only. If not, we quote the full flat rate and compare it honestly against replacement.
Fans, sensors, heaters, and boards are one-visit repairs at ordinary prices. Compressor work is the expensive one, and we never guess at it.

How do I know if my LG compressor has failed?
Both the fridge and freezer warm up together, the lights and fans still work, and the compressor is either silent or hot to the touch with no cooling. A technician confirms it with pressure and amperage readings.
Is my LG compressor still under warranty?
Possibly. LG extended compressor coverage on many models. We help you check by model and serial number before quoting, so you do not pay for a covered part.
Will the replacement compressor fail again?
The current LG replacement compressor is a revised design that has proven far more reliable than the original. We install it with a new drier and a proper vacuum and charge.
Can you fix the Craft Ice maker?
Yes. Craft Ice uses a separate sphere-ice module with its own heater and fill. We service it along with the standard ice maker.
How long does LG compressor repair take?
Plan on two to three hours on site for the sealed-system work, then several hours for the unit to pull down to temperature. We schedule the extra time up front.
