Water on the floor or under the crispers
A blocked defrost drain, common on 106 and 253 models. Ten-minute fix if caught early; a floor problem if not.
Ice maker stopped
Whirlpool-built modular ice makers are a straightforward swap. LG-built units may need the ice room fan or a control board.
Loud clicking or buzzing from the back
Start relay on older 106 and 363 units. Cheap and fast if that is all it is; we test the compressor before replacing anything.
Display dark or buttons unresponsive
Main control or user interface board. Sears parts are gone, but the manufacturer’s part is still available for most models.

Why is my Kenmore fridge warm but the freezer is cold?
Air from the freezer is not reaching the fresh-food side. On Whirlpool-built 106 models that is a frozen evaporator coil from a defrost failure, or a dead evaporator fan. Both are routine repairs.

If it is a 795-prefix model built by LG, possibly. LG extended linear compressor coverage on many units. We check the serial against the coverage before quoting.
Is a fifteen-year-old Kenmore worth fixing?
For a fan, defrost part, relay, or gasket, yes. Older Whirlpool-built Kenmores are simple and durable. For a compressor or a sealed-system leak at that age, replacement is usually the better value, and we will tell you.
